What foods besides tropical fish flakes are healthy for guppies to have in their diets?

by admin on January 27, 2010

I know dried blood worms and baby brine shrimp are good, but if you are unable to get your hands on that at the moment, what are some other foods that guppies enjoy and are healthy, particulary foods that have greater amounts of vitamin D? Are their any households foods or vegetables that go good with a tropical fish flake diet when cut into very small peices? I just want my guppies to have a more nutritious, healthy, and exciting diet.

Thanks for all input, advice, etc.

My guppies like eating those algae disks that you would buy for a pleco. They might also like frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp instead of dried ,or you might want to try starting a live worm culture. They sell them on ebay for a few dollars. It’s kind of icky, though.
